Strasbourg held the Victim Support Europe Annual Conference 2019
The Victim Support Europe Annual Conference brings together professionals from member organizations from every corners of Europe. The Conference is a unique opportunity to share knowledge and experiences on providing support to victims of crime. This year the conference, co-organized by the VSE and France Victimes, took place in the European Parliament in Strasbourg. The theme of the Conference was Victim recovery: a road with many routes.
João Lázaro, president of APAV and Victim Support Europe, was part of the opening panel and his speech marked the beginning of the Conference.
APAV was also represented by Mafalda Valério, who presented the theme Remote support: the example of victim support helplines. Also present was Marta Carmo who facilitated a workshop on the theme A route to effective and quality services, focused on APAV’s quality management system, monitoring and impact assessment. Bruno Brito participated in the first plenary session of the second day of the Conference, presenting the topic Which psychological assistance for which victim: assessing needs and making available different types of support and facilitated two workshops: Sexual violence against children and Planning for victim support response to a terrorist attack.
